THE RULES

MAIN RULES

• grammar & spelling -- please attempt to write in as much of a literate form as possible. it is understandable to mess up sometimes, that is okay but please do not tallk lyke ths al teh tim. spelling should be as accurate as possible since spell check is an option.
  
• Spamming -- spamming is a no no. do not advertise anywhere but the advert board. this includes over PM as well as the c box. do either of these things and you will be IMMEDIATELY banned. also if you receive an advert via PM please report.
  
• site rating -- this site is a PG-13 site. this means no crazy sex threads or over use of swearing. however you are allowed to do a bit (imagine a PG-13 movie) if there is an excess of swearing please put [R] in the subject. I understand that some of the stuff might be legitimate under a PG-13 rating, R is just easier to understand.
  
• respect -- please respect the other role players. this is a friendly board, do not hate on each other or disturb the peace. if there is to much arguing over any board or the c box than both members will be warned and if it happens again they will be banned. (if you have been warned for fighting once with someone and you fight again with someone else that counts as your second strike and YOU ARE BANNED).
  

GRAPHIC RULES

• size -- do NOT post any images larger than 500x500. this includes in the games area. if it is necessary to include an image larger than 500x500 please link out.
  
• stealing -- so if there are existing graphics, somebody made them. do not steal the graphics, credit and link. if the site you are getting them from requires a link back to the site please contact an admin and they will look it over and decide to link or not.
  
• image content -- remember the rating. that means do not include boobs/other sex parts/ or any sort of other offensive material.
  
• av size -- please do not have an AV bigger than 150x200
  

CHARACTER RULES

• names -- the names of your characters should be unique and fun. that means i dont want to see applications for 'john brown' or 'elizabeth smith'. however i also dont want to see an application for names just to weird like 'vivalicious felicity st. timothybeth'. find a happy medium.
  
• play by - every character needs a play by. this is a celebrity that is working as an image for your character. i ask that you do not use cartoon characters or personal pictures. also you must post in the face claim when you have decided on a play by, if it is taken YOU CANNOT USE IT. unless they are twins and the first person to have it must approve the use of twins and PM AND ADMIN.
  
• profile -- every character needs their own profile and account. the display name should match the character's and the display name should be first middle and last name all lower case. i ask that all characters have middle names because of this format and nicknames cannot be placed in the middle like Ebony "Eb" Smith.
  
• perfects -- no perfect characters. i do not want the all around beauty with perfect grades, flawless quidditch skills, and everyone loves her. along with that i also dont want the average girl who was raped as a child and currently deals with bulimia and cutting because of appearance issues.
  
• copying -- i do not want to see characters that are exactly as they are on the television show. that means you cannot have craig parker playing an evil, self obsessed, dark overlord with occasional fetishes (see: legend of the seeker).
  
• multiple characters -- you can have as many characters as you would like, but stay up to date with all of them. if an admin notices one of your characters not being used then we will ban you from making more characters until that character is used or deleted.
  
• gender -- when joining please make the gender the gender of the character. the birthdate however does not have to be accurate.
  

ROLEPLAYING RULES

• style -- for this board you must roleplay in third person past tense. (he grabbed his hairbrush and held it to his head before deciding against brushing his hair and exiting the room.)
  
• speech -- you must post all speech in quotation marks. if you would like you can post all the speeches in bold or in colors, but they must have quotation marks. thinking cannot be in quotation marks and should be in italics.
  

POSTING RULES

• powerplay -- please do not powerplay. this means you cannot control every character in your board. you can control your character and your character alone. so you should not do:
  
  "john grabbed his wand and muttered a spell that jumped out of the tip in a flash of green light headed straight toward nicole. nicole jumped out of the way, but her arm was knicked."
  
  instead you should be like:
  
  "john grabbed his wand and muttered a spell that jumped out of the tip in a flash of green light headed straight toward nicole."
  
  and the rest is left up to the other character.
  
• killing -- this board is about a war at hogwarts, so killing is an option however you MUST discuss this with the other character and PM an admin so that is it verified.
  
• god-moding -- this means you cannot create a character who is invincible.
  

OOC & C BOX RULES

• adverts -- like i said before DO NOT advertise in any OOC board or in c box unless of course it is the advert forum. this is spam.
  
• no trashing -- do not trash other people, it is rude and we are all friends here.
